Greater your sins…
The greater your sins, the greater still the triumph of the goodness, charity, and clemency of this God Who is infinitely rich in mercy.
–Saint Leonard of Port Maurice (1676-1751)
The greater your sins, the greater still the triumph of the goodness, charity, and clemency of this God Who is infinitely rich in mercy.
–Saint Leonard of Port Maurice (1676-1751)
God hates sin infinitely, but He loves His creatures infinitely. As soon as the soul repents of its sin, it recovers the love of God. If all sinners wished to return to God with contrite and humble hearts, all would be saved. This infinite kindness desires that all men reach Heaven… A mother would be less eager to rescue her child who fell into a fire than God would be to embrace the repentant sinner.
–Saint Leonard of Port Maurice (1676-1751)
If it happens that someone cannot weep, a single word from a contrite heart is enough for God. And if someone would lose the use of his tongue, God would be well pleased with the moaning of his heart.
–Saint Thomas Aquinas (1225-1274)
Repentance is not something that God demands of you before he takes you back, it’s simply a description of what going back to God is like.
–CS Lewis (1863-1929)
There is no sin which cannot be pardoned except that one which lacks repentance, and there is no gift which is not augmented save that which remains without acknowledgement.
–Saint Isaac of Syria (Seventh Century)
Faith beholds Jesus among us. If we are unable to seize his hand, let us prostrate ourselves at his feet. If we are unable to reach his head, let us wash his feet with our tears. Our repentance is the perfume of the Savior. See how costly is the compassion of the Savior.
–Saint Jerome (c. 340-420)
