And so our good Lord answered to all the questions and doubts which I could raise, saying most comfortingly: I may make all things well, and I shall make all things well, and I will make all things well; and you will see yourself that every kind of thing will be well.
–Saint Julian of Norwich (1342-1416)
God is all love…
Some of us believe that God is all-powerful and may do everything; and that is all wise and can do everything; but as for believing he is all love and will do everything, there we hold back. In my view nothing hinders God’s lovers more than the failure to understand this.
–Saint Julian of Norwich (1342-1416)
The Creator loves us…
For it is so precisely loved by him who is highest that this surpasses the knowledge of all created beings. That is to say, there is no created being who can know how much and how sweetly and how tenderly the Creator loves us.
–Saint Julian of Norwich (1342-1416)
Jesus feeds us…
A mother feeds her child with her milk, but our beloved mother Jesus feeds us with himself. In tender courtesy he gives us the Blessed Sacrament, the most treasured food of life.
–Saint Julian of Norwich (1342-1416)
To blame God…
So how unjust it would be for me to blame God for allowing my sin when he does not blame me for falling into it.
–Saint Julian of Norwich (1342-1416)
When we clearly see our Self…
The passing life of the senses doesn’t lead to knowledge of what our Self is. When we clearly see what our Self is, then we shall truly know our Lord God in great joy.
–Saint Julian of Norwich (1342-1416)
