Eternal God, eternal Trinity,
You have made the Blood of Christ so precious
through His sharing in Your Divine nature.
You are a mystery as deep as the sea;
the more I search, the more I find,
and the more I find the more I search for You.
But I can never be satisfied;
what I receive will ever leave me desiring more.
When You fill my soul I have an ever-greater hunger,
and I grow more famished for Your light.
I desire above all to see You,
the true light, as you really are. Amen.
— Saint Catherine of Siena (1347-1380)

You are God, we praise you.
You are Lord, we acclaim you.
All creation worships you,
the Father everlasting.
To you all angels, all the powers of heaven,
cherubim and seraphim, sing in endless praise:
Holy, holy, holy Lord, God of power and might,
heaven and earth are full of your glory.
The glorious company of apostles praise you.
The noble fellowship of prophets praise you.
The white-robed army of martyrs praise you.
Throughout the world the holy Church acclaims you:
Father, of majesty unbounded,
your true and only Son, worthy of all worship,
the Holy Spirit, advocate and guide.
You, Christ, are the king of glory,
the eternal Son of the Father.
When you became human to set us free
you did not spurn the virgin’s mother’s womb.
Instead You overcame the sting of death,
and opened the kingdom of heaven to all believers.
You are seated at God’s right hand in glory.
We believe that you will come again to be our judge.
Come then, Lord, and help your people,
bought with the price of your own blood,
and bring us with your saints to glory everlasting.
— Saint Nicetas (Fourth Century)

What is wrong with me?
I know nothing that is good;
I cannot even think of it.
I, a sinner — alas, what can I do?
I do not know and cannot even think
what will become of me
because of my many, many sins.
Oh, where shall I turn,
to whom shall I run for help
to cover my shameful sins
and remove them with repentance?
I will turn back in my heart,
return in true repentance
to you, God, who have touched my wounds.
Awakened from the sleep of death,
I will not sin again
in thought, word or deed.
— Saint Hildegarde of Bingen (1098-1179)

May You be blessed forever, Lord,
for not abandoning me when I abandoned you.
May You be blessed forever, Lord,
for offering Your hand of love in my darkest, most lonely moments.
May You be blessed forever, Lord,
for putting up with such a stubborn soul as mine.
May You be blessed forever, Lord,
for loving me more than I love myself.
May You be blessed forever, Lord,
for drawing out the goodness in all people, even including me.
May You be blessed forever, Lord,
for repaying our sin with Your love.
May You be blessed forever, Lord,
for being constant and unchanging, amidst all the changes of the world.
May You be blessed forever, Lord,
for Your countless blessings on me and on all Your creatures.
— Saint Teresa Of Avila (1515-1582)

Lord, make me an instrument of Your peace.
Where there is hatred, let me sow love;
where there is injury, pardon;
where there is doubt, faith;
where there is despair, hope;
where there is darkness, light;
where there is sadness, joy.
O, Divine Master, grant that I may not so much
seek to be consoled as to console;
to be understood as to understand;
to be loved as to love.
For it is in giving that we receive;
it is in pardoning that we are pardoned;
it is in dying that we are born again to eternal life.
— attributed to Saint Francis of Assisi

O Christ Jesus,
when all is darkness
and we feel our weakness and helplessness,
give us the sense of Your presence,
Your love, and Your strength.
Help us to have perfect trust
in Your protecting love
and strengthening power,
so that nothing may frighten or worry us,
for, living close to You,
we shall see Your hand,
Your purpose, Your will through all things.
— Saint Ignatius of Loyola (1491-1556)
